Frogs & Toads

An infographic project on the
difference between Frogs & Toads

This project is aimed to educate children (10-18 years) on the difference between Frogs & Toads and how important they are to ensuring a healthy environment. The infographic poster would be used in a classroom setting, making it easier for educators to explain how they are different & similar. Social media assets make this knowledge even easier to obtain and share.

Project Scope

Process

I started this project by researching the similarities & differences between Frogs & Toads. While one might think at first glance that these animals are almost the same, they have several differences! Once I gathered my research, I started sketching out figures of the animals and developed these into illustrations for the assets.

Next, I formatted my information into the assets to ensure an easy-to-understand layout. After iterating this process until I found the best layout, I began figuring out the best layout for my graphic elements, which were all hand-drawn.

Inspiration

As a huge frog fan, I was inspired by fun, bright frog illustrations and memes and the 1970s children’s book series, Frog and Toad, by Arnold Lobel. After building out my moodboard, I decided illustrating the graphic elements would give the poster a friendly feeling while providing educational information.

Infographic Poster

The infographic poster provides information on the differences between Frogs & Toads in several aspects like their body, habitat, and size. It also includes important information on how Frogs & Toads help our environment and what we can do to help them, the most endangered group of vertebrae animals on the planet.

The poster is filled with illustrations I created for this project, a swampy marsh, frog & toad figures, fly & tongue illustrations, along with the section dividers to help clarify the types of differences.

Social Media

Utilizing the same design elements and similar layout from the infographic poster, I reformatted the information into easily shareable social media posts. This allows not only students but anyone interested in learning more about Frogs & Toads and why they matter to us!

Frogs & Toads, both small animals play a big part in the health of our environment.

Let’s help them like they help us!
