INTI Jewelry

Branding project for INTI Jewelry

Objective

This project is aimed to create a branding suite for INTI Jewelry, a gender neutral jewelry brand, striving to provide elegant, high-quality, and affordable pieces for those that flow between femininity and masculinity. Inti Jewelry is based on the Incan Sun God, Inti, who represents strength, connection to our roots, and community.

Project Scope

  • Ideation

  • Research

  • Illustration

  • Logo Design

  • Icon Design

Process

Firstly, I researched Inti, the Incan Sun god, and his symbolism and connection to the Ican people. Inti was normally a benevolent and generous god but capable of great anger. He was believed to exert control over their agricultural activities and thus was vital to their existence. Gold symbolized Inti, which was said to be the sun's sweat. Inti often had a golden mask or was depicted as a golden disk with rays, like the sun. After gathering my research, I started ideating ways to represent Inti in a contemporary ray while having a direct influence from representations of the past.

Inspiration

For this project, I was inspired by clean, unique logos, bold contemporary jewelry, and nature, specifically wheat and animals that have strong historical ties to Inti.

Using these pieces of inspiration, I developed a wordmark and iconography to be used through INTI Jewlery’s branding and consumer touchpoints.

With a growing market for jewelry focused on the LGBTQ+ community, INTI Jewelry’s mission is to ensure non-binary folks feel like they have options to show their personality, strength, and beauty.
